Hotels are the most expensive choice of places to stay on Kauai. Well, they are probably the most expensive choice for accommodations anywhere you go. However, everything has its good points. Hotels usually have more services, amenities, and niceer, more up to date rooms. If you are the kind of person who likes to have specific things in the place where you are staying, it is best to check with the hotel directly before planning your trip. Remember, you are not going to be spending a great deal of time in your hotel because this is Kauai. I am sure you would like to be out doing something - like enjoying the unspoiled beauty of the island. So, unless you plan on spending most of your vacation time in your room, you may want to go with something that is appropriate, but affordable.
