 On the island of Kauai, you could spend days walking through the local shops. So, most visitors like to go to a shopping complex or mall and walk through the stores in that specific area. We will break this down in a very simple way. There are a few communities which specialize in shopping of one type or another. For instance, one of these communities is the town of Hanapepe - which is the home to Lilo and Stich. It is a cute art-like community. Or, there is Hanalei, which is the home to Puff the Magic dragon. Each has their own shops. We do not recommend driving across the island to go to each town that you have heard of because it will take a lot of time out of your vacation driving back and forth. But, we do suggest that in one of your day trips, you make time to visit as many local shops as you can that are near you, or near wherever you travel to that day.
