Twenty years ago. Island Soap Company began pouring Hawaii's original handmade soap in a secluded warehouse location. The only problem was that many a resourceful tourist discovered Kilauea's best-kept secret and demanded a peek at the ancient art of soap and candle making. So the Soap Master relented and a suitable location was procured to invite the public into his domain. Thus. Island Soap & Candle Works was born.
The company now has two locations on Kauai—in the Kong Lung Center in Kilauea on the North Shore and in Koloa on the South Shore.
At Island Soap & Candle. you'll see Hawaii's only soap and candle factories at work. Soapmakers use natural ingredients like pure coconut. macadamia nut. kukui nut and other vegetable-oil bases. Scents include Mandarin Lemon Grass. Strawberry Guava. Vanilla Papaya and Lavender Rose. aromas that permeate the shops as you browse.
